Sailing Along in 2015

The ever growing group of Izivungungu sailing students are featuring creditably alongside their colleagues from the elite clubs and schools.Several of them were invited to participate in the World Mirror Championships. They triumphed at the Inter-Schools Regatta at Zandvlei and also at the 24hourGrand Slam and were prominent in the South African Navy FestivalParade. Greater emphasis has also been placed on boat-building and repairs, such that skills development includes woodwork, metalwork, fibreglass techniques and paintspraying. This, together with a system of liaising with selected Teachers from the various schools is helping to ensure that all students will be better equipped for life after school, with improved academic results and employable skills.
